Oh, so true. You really don't want me as a registered Republican because
then I would be working to bring ethics, morality and fiscal
responsibility into the party and its' bought-off by the corporations
candidates.
Also I would work to bring back the Constitution and require ALL
Repubicans (heck make it all citizens) memorize and UNDERSTAND what the
Constitution means. No more erosion of Americans' rights by the
fear-mongers (Republicans), theft of natural resources for corporate
gluttony and greed, or personal gluttony and greed at the expense of
human dignity and human and workers' rights.
No more CEO's being permitted to make 900 times the lowest paid worker nor
million dollar buy-outs to those thieves.
No more capital punishment.
No more financial buy-offs of Congress.
Paper ballots. That makes it harder for elections to be stolen.
Health care for ALL Americans. This plan can also be called the Cheney
Plan (www.cheneyplan.org)
End the fake war on drugs. (Afghanistan produces more opium under US
management than ever before.)
No more corporate welfare.
No more tax subsidies for small business owners who buy SUV's.
Heavy tax on ALL vehicles that get less than 35 mpg.
Solar energy captalized to make it a reality.
Serious funding for rail roads and public transportation.
No more torture.
No more secret prisons
Restore habeas corpus.
National Parks to remain national parks and not open for natural resources
rape.
Major shift from the failed reaganomics which has destroyed the US dollar
to a sustainable and growth economy without war, but with investments in
alternative energies and intelligent use of our present resources.
In the past three decades, one-third of the planets natural
resources base have been consumed.
In the United States, we have less than 4% of our original
forests left.
Forty percent of waterways in the US have become undrinkable.
The U.S.has 5% of the worlds population but consumes 30% of
the worlds resources4 and creates 30% of the worlds waste.
If everybody consumed at U.S. rates, we would need 3 to 5
planets.
There are over 100,000 synthetic chemicals in commerce today.
Only a handful of synthetic chemicals have even been tested for
human health impacts and NONE have been tested for synergistic
health impacts.
In the U.S., industry admits to releasing over 4 billion pounds of
toxic chemicals a year.
The average U.S. person now consumes twice as much as they
did 50 years ago.
We each see more advertisements in one year than a people 50
years ago saw in a lifetime.
In the U.S. our national happiness peaked sometime in the
1950s.
In the U.S., we spend 34 times as many hours shopping as our
counterparts in Europe do.
Average U.S. house size has doubled since the 1970s.
Each person in the United States makes 4 1/2 pounds of garbage
a day.
That is twice what we each made thirty years ago.
For every one garbage can of waste you put out on the curb, 70
garbage cans of waste were made upstream to make the junk
in that one garbage can you put out on the curb.
Facts from The Story of Stuff
What greed looks like!
So I call for th4e above chanes to a sustainable economy and a sustainable
lifestyle as a matter of living on the planet. We can't keep going the
way that we are now as it will bring about the death of the planet as we
know it.
If you can't get rid of your greed, please get help!
