US President George W. Bush lost a bit of weight this year and remains in
top physical condition according to a report on his health released
Wednesday by the White House.
"The president remains in excellent health and is 'fit for duty.' All data
suggest that he will remain so for the duration of his presidency," the
statement said.
The 61-year-old leader takes a daily multivitamin but no prescription
medications, does not drink alcohol and exercises six days a week, placing
him in the "'superior' fitness category for men his age," it said.
His workouts "include cycling, elliptical trainer, resistance training, and
flexibility exercises," it said.
Bush lost four pounds since his exam last year and weighs 192 pounds (87
kilograms) at a height of 71.50 inches (1.81 meters).
The report said Bush was scheduled for another routine colon cancer
screening in three years, after doctors removed five small benign growths
from his colon during his last such test in July.
Except for a viral illness which led Bush to rearrange his morning schedule
during the G8 summit in June, Bush has not missed any work due to illness
since his last examination.
