Unfortunately, under very similiar conditions/circumstances in Germany it took a pretty major 
destruction of the country before the Germans shed their delusions. Until quite late, they thought 
themselves to be  "spreading democracy" and "fighting the terrorists over there so they wouldn't 
have to fight them at home".  So while I still hope for a non-violent outcome, it may well take 
similar destruction here, before Americans assume their civic and patriotic duty, and make the
